The others can attend school or work. It’s a great community solution for women to help each other. But it’s complex. How do we screen the women? Background checks are probably not enough. After all, each woman has to trust the other to watch her kids. What is the optimal number of women in a group? With 5 women, if one is sick, no one can cover if the rest have to go to school that day. Do we need 6? 7? At some point the number of kids also becomes unmanageable. The app can also rate women on their reliability so that other potential members of the group can evaluate them. How do we do so fairly? How do we confirm members of the group are going to school or work instead of just using the app as free childcare? And, very importantly, how do we pay for all this? Do we charge the participants a fee? Do we use advertising? Do we function as a non-profit and raise donations? Do we apply for government grants?
