Were you aware of the school integration controversy in the 1950’s and ’60’s? What was the most surprising thing you saw in this video?
Is there a scene that sticks in your mind as particularly moving or evocative? • Why do you think school integration was so controversial?
Knowing what happened in the first days of school for the Little Rock 9, do you think that there was anything the school board could have done make the transition easier for the black students?
Should the federal government have intervened earlier? How might the results have been different if federal troops had been present from the beginning?
Do you see any parallels between the situation in Little Rock in 1957 and the George Floyd killing or other current racially charged incidents?
