Think of the essay as a reflection on the novel. I want you to write freely and intentionally. I do not want formulaic essays. For this reason, I want you to write an essay that is three pages or more. There is no limit or criteria for the paragraph count or word count. I am looking for:
1)Did your essay answer the question completely and fully, including three in-text citations?
2)Did you stay organized with your thoughts in writing and style? This includes grammar and punctuation.
3) Is your essay a reflection of your interaction with the text? Do not find essays online and pull from them.
4) intentional Did you put in effort? Did you actually reflect and brainstorm your essay in a thoughtful, organized manner or did you just write something quickly to get the points? I can tell…
5) Relative Does your essay make sense with the theme of this text? Does it relate to the characters/themes/conflict/style or is it confusing and lacking that relationship with the text?
