Write reflectively about PROFESSIONAL ETHICS and how it pertains to your development of professional functioning as a counselor. Some questions to consider:
Define what an “ethical counselor” would look/sound/be like to you.
Most CITs/new professionals cannot believe some of the things their seasoned colleagues are getting in trouble or losing their license over. Where do you think the disconnect comes from? What happens after being out the field that changes someone’s moral compass or ability to be ethical?
In your mind, what is the most egregious act that a counselor can perform in our profession?
How do you plan to stay current with the ethical code and our professional ethics, practice ethically, and continually strive to be an ethical counselor?
What other thoughts/comments/concerns/questions that come to your mind when thinking about “professional ethics?”
