What strategies do senior schools effectively use to ensure set homework is completed?
This study would be from a constructivist epistemology with an interpretivism lens of phenomenology. The study would seek to understand the perspectives and reality from the students’ and teachers’ points of view about the effectiveness of strategies schools use to ensure homework is completed. Phenomenological research and discourse analysis methodology would guide the use of semi-strutted interviews and document searchers. A sample of senior schools from a variety of demographics would be asked to provide policy documents relating to completion of homework for a data review. A Head of Learning Area and a sample of students from each school would be asked to complete a semi-strutted interview. Discourse analysis would be used to analyze the data from the document study and thematic analysis on the interview transcripts.
