Write a research essay of at least 12 complete pages, not counting the Works Cited, on the topic you have chosen in week 1. You will need at least 10 sources. In addition to the introduction and the conclusion, the research essay should include these parts: description of the problem (What is the issue? Who does it affect? Why should we care about it?), causes of the problem, evaluation of the problem, a specific solution, and evidence supporting the solution.
Introduction giving background on the topic and naming the thesis.
Section 1: Outline the problem or issue in several pages. How is it a problem? What caused it? Why should we care about it?
III. Section 2: In a few pages, discuss what potential solutions there are to the issue/problem and which one or ones are best.
Section 3: In a few paragraphs, discuss the views of people who disagree with your stance on the issue. Give reasons why their views are incorrect.
Conclusion
Please note, as previously mentioned in several announcements, that you can use parts of or the entirety of any of your previous papers and assignments in this final essay. In particular, your Week 5 and 6 essays can be incorporated into the final essay.
