Scenario 1 – You work as a practitioner in a care home for people with dementia. One evening shift one of the residents has been shouting and crying in her room for quite some time. A colleague suggests she will give her morphine to shut her up.
Scenario 2 – You work in a children’s day nursery and notice that a toddler has been arriving with a soiled nappy and generally appearing dirty. He seems to be tired and snatches food from other children during meal times. You mention your concerns to the manager and she tells you mum has been a bit depressed since her break-up with the child’s father.
