Interactionist sociological theory has developed in two different strands. One of these strands focuses on analyzing interactions “from the outside” and the other focuses on analyzing interactions “from the inside.” CHOOSE ONE OF THESE STRANDS TO FOCUS ON IN YOUR ESSAY.First, explain the main features of the strand of thinking that you chose. Then discuss how it appears in the work of two of the theorists that we read.If you choose the “interactions from the outside” strand, you should discuss the work of Georg Simmel and either Erving Goffman or Arlie Hochs child. If you choose the “interactions from the inside” strand, you should discuss the work of George Herbert Mead and either Howard Becker or Arlie Hochs child. Make sure to draw on the relevant background and primary readings to develop your essay.
