Point 2: In order to protect children, adults, and our communities , we as a country must encourage four solutions.
A. Laws:
1.Implement policies that prohibit racial profiling
2.Tougher laws on excessive force What should the laws state? Will these be state and/or Federal? Will they be implemented in the state and/or Federal governments?
B. Enforcement of Laws:
1.Protocols
2.Checklists for various law-enforcement situations How? What protocols? What will the checklists state? Will there be someone “checking”? What about requiring all PD’s to have body cams?
C. Punishment for “racist” Behavior:
1..Tougher consequences (what should be done…Additional training classes if a situation has been reported. If bad enough, termination.)
D. Education and Training for law enforcement and the Public :
1. Training on new hiring processes
2. Annual, continuing ed for Police Dept’s (what should be taught) 2. Courses in schools (maybe in a health and safety course, perhaps in a Civics course).
3.Bring more awareness with clubs and classes for adults
