Step Up Assignment
You have become the leader of your own disaster volunteer group. You have some funds from a government grant – not a lot – and you want this group to be ready!
Develop the following for your disaster group:
- Who will be your target audience for recruiting volunteers
- How you want to recruit these individuals
- What type of skills should members already possess
- What trainings will you provide
- A campaign message for attracting your volunteers
With all of that in mind – pick a specific type of emergency and develop a training plan to prepare your volunteers to respond. Determine how you will evaluate the success of your training and next steps to continue improving or maintain the knowledge and skills of your volunteers.
