2. Interpretation: What I think about what I see. Give an objective interpretation of the article.
3. Evaluation: How I judge/evaluate/feel about what I see. Give a subjective evaluation of the article.
4. Knowledge: What additional knowledge might I need to understand what I see/interpret/evaluate more thoroughly? What additional knowledge do I bring to a discussion about what was read/interpreted/evaluated?
How to post your essays:
1. Read the Discussion topic for the chapter.
2. Compose your answer on a word processor first. You are responsible for lost documents, even if it’s due to a server crash, so keep a back-up copy of EVERYTHING you submit on this site.
3. Preview your comments to check for spelling and grammar.
4. To post your message, click on the Reply box, at the end of these instructions, and paste your essay into the box.
Requirements for the essays:
Each discussion essay should include the following:
• Include a heading for each element in the DIE+K Model.
• Write a minimum of 1 paragraph under each heading on the DIE+K model.
• Express emotions and reflect upon personal values in relation to the pictures, and how the picture did or did not change or add to your perspective.
• Integrate relevant insight and experiences explaining how these ideas can be applied into your own life.
Requirements for responses to classmates’ postings:
1. You will learn a lot from reading the essays posted by your classmates. You read other students’ posts by clicking on the Discussion tab and then the Chapter. All the students’ posts for that chapter should appear.
2. After you’ve read your classmates’ posts, choose two students to respond to. Please reply to students who have answered a different question than you did. Type your response on a word processor and save a back-up copy. Preview your comments to check for spelling and grammar.
3. To post your reply, open the student’s message. Click on the Reply box at the end of the post. Paste your reply in the text box.
Requirements for the responses:
A satisfactory response entails more than “good idea” or “I agree.” The response should be one paragraph in length and should address the following:
• Explain WHY you agree or disagree with the essay.
• Include vocabulary and/or concepts from the readings or lectures.
• Cite the source of the concepts.
