How will getting an MBA impact my personal and professional development goals?
Through a combination of paralegal work experience, professional training, and education, I’ve discovered that my passion is blending substantive corporate law work with strategic management expertise. Having been an integral component to large law firms specializing in representing banks and other commercial lenders, and understood the nuts and bolts of commercial lending and securitization, I’ve realized that there is so much more I could achieve by investing in my professional development.
I’ve decided to pursue a graduate degree because I would like to learn how the adverse parties, usually investment companies and hedge funds, utilize the borrowed money, learn about their day-to-day operations, and the different elements that influence their daily business decisions. For me, Syracuse University’s finance specialization provides a comprehensive curriculum that will supply this in-depth perspective and further improve business relationships. Eventually, I plan to use this degree, along with my corporate law training to transition into an in-house management position within a financial company.
