Maintaining an effective workforce which delivers maximum value for an organisation depends largely on the overall levels of motivation that exist within it.
Write an essay in which you:
1. Critically comment on how issues in both the external and internal environments of organisations can impact motivation, and provide contemporary examples from reliable news sources or academic sources/case studies that demonstrate increased or reduced levels of motivation in workforces, along with their causes.
You should also analyse how performance management systems can be utilised to address motivational issues within organisations. Your essay should also include critical commentary on how individual and collective motivation might be affected and managed during periods of withdrawal or redundancy. (90 marks)
