Are either of these compatible with democratic countries, such as the United States? There are on opposite ends of the political ideological spectrum. There is a trend towards extremism on the political spectrum in the United States currently (liberal vs conservative). Are there elected officials, current or past, that tend to lean towards either fascism or communism? Why?
- Examine the two political spectrum charts provided and research the meanings of each term on the spectrum. In both prompts, you must address where personal responsibility lies within each individual.
- Go to one of the provided websites and take the political ideology quiz. When you get your results, read about or look up, what your result means. Are you surprised by your results? Are you surprised by some issues/beliefs that fall into specific categories? Do you think there is a misunderstanding by many in the general public as to where beliefs fall on the spectrum? Where does personal responsibility come into play in regards to understanding the ideological spectrum?
