Unit 3 Essay Prompt: Personal Discovery (10 points)
Narrate a discovery you made through reading one of the personal discovery essays by Gloria Anzaldua or Vershawn Ashanti Young. Choose a specific passage or a quote (or multiple passages/quotes, if you like) in the essay you read and talk about how it led you to understanding something new about yourself. Your reader should discover something about you as they read your essay, they should discover it along with you. Before you write directly about your discovery, tell the reader something about you, the text that led to your discovery, and the context of the moment.
