The 2 questions are in the document below and will focus heavily on the understanding of Biochemistry of different disease states and the ability to interpret case studies. 1. Vitamin D deficiency: Write a short and brief description of osteomalacia followed by a good explanation of the causes and harms of vitamin deficiency and how it affects the human body. This should also include the results from the case study to show both what the results mean AS WELL AS WHY THE ANALYTES ARE MEASURED (IMPORTANT). There should be some evaluation of said methods as well. Overall, the deficiency of Vitamin D should be highlighted and how it is tested for should be clearly explained.
2. Patient with Cushing’s disease. There should be a clear show of how the case study results indicate a patient with Cushing’s disease, but this should not be concluded early. A show of process of how you came to the diagnosis should be shown. You should also explain on what and how the condition is caused. Another important point is to highlight the different forms of Cushing’s disease and tests that the patient will have to undergo to determine the which form the patient has.
