Conduct a brief Gap Analysis (what issue/problems need addressed and is the current training addressing these issues/problems) in your field and discuss what areas in your field need reform .
Discuss your current agencies policies and if they align to the issue/problem in your field. Do your current training policies align to what needs reformed in your field – this should be fairly easy to do, you can provide your opinion ? Since we are in the criminal justice field, we are all critical of what needs addressed and if the current training provided addresses those problems. I know I was always critical of training. For example, when I received training, I felt that some of it was outdated or not relevant to the problems we were currently experiencing in law enforcement.
Also, provide training solutions for the reform and address the issues/problems you described above. Use the reading material provided for this week, including the textbook and the knowledge you gained through the instructor development portion of the course.
