Class Theatre Appreciation
Of the production side of theatre – acting, directing, lighting design, sound design, costume design, props design, scenic design, or dramaturgy – what do you personally think would be the most challenging for you if you were a theatre artist and why? What do you perceive as the most exciting or rewarding and why?
Imagine you are a theatre company producing both Hamlet and Joe Turner’s Come and Gone in your 2021-2022 season, but due to the challenges of COVID-19, you have a VERY small budget for your productions. Based on the text of both, justify your choices to cut the budget of 2 areas. If you had to eliminate the budget of those two areas of production completely, which two would you eliminate and why?
