Relationship Between Poverty and Teen pregnancy
This review will be looking to examine the existing scholarly materials and literature related to the research topic. Teen pregnancy is one of the most concerning social problems that society faces. The consequences of teen pregnancy are far-reaching to both society and young teen mothers. In general, the number of teen mothers in the US requiring child support should be addressed. Therefore, it becomes increasingly important to study the aspect of teenage motherhood. Based on the existing literature materials, this review attempts to identify any relationship and identify how public policy can be used to effect change.
Decreased Economic Opportunity
Explain how pregnant teens have decreased employment opportunities after giving birth showing the need for public policy intervention to reduce teen pregnancy.
Increased Social Cost
Explain how society is financially impacted and subsidizes poor teens who become mothers showing the need for public policy intervention to decrease teen pregnancy.
