A medical center in the Midwestern United Stated identified workplace incivility as a problem within their facility, and as a result conducted an educational quality improvement activity to teach participants how to effectively communicate while brining awareness to the prevalence of incivility.
Although this study requires further nursing research, the participants of this quality improvement activity noted the successful use of a positive conflict management strategy after the educational intervention . Quality improvement activities such as the one conducted above validate the importance of doing local scale research and improvement activities to improve satisfaction of all individuals within the healthcare system”.
