This campaign is organized to allow individuals to contribute to any existing food bank collection. Many households who face hunger issues in the country have not qualified for the Federal Nutrition Programs. Therefore, most of these individuals turn to other organizations and the local food banks, especially during this difficult period. Recent surveys have established that 40% of people currently turning up for help at our food banks had never sought aid from the food banks before.
This factor has been generated by the fact that most people, over 11 million, in the United States have lost their jobs. The rise in the number of vulnerable individuals seeking aid from these local food banks has significantly increased and very soon the food banks may run out of food as it is predicted that the virus has continued to affect more sectors of the economy. So, it is important that we could join hands to fight the increasingly rising hunger threat.
1: What is the future for those people who do not have close access to the food banks?
2: Do you donate food to hospitals, especially during this time of crisis?
