For standard format papers, start with global feedback: is this draft meeting the assignment requirements for the standard format problem solution research essay?
What specific parts or sentences did you like the most or find the most interesting or well-written?
Does the introduction draw the reader in to the topic? Is it clear how this topic connects to water sustainability issues and is relevant to Hawai’i and the Pacific?
Does the thesis clearly state the parts/causes/effects of the problem and the solution(s)? Does it avoid the “matter of fact”, “duh”, “hazy”, “wishy washy”, or “screaming” mistakes?
Does each body paragraph begin with a point about a part/cause/effect of the problem or a solution? Does the organization of the problem section and the solution(s) section make sense?
Does each body paragraph include information and quotes from the text that are properly cited in MLA format, and is there a Works Cited page at the end? Is all information from sources introduced and properly credited?
Do body paragraphs explain the significance or importance of the quotes and information from sources?
