After watching the video, each team should come up with at least one example, ideally, 2 or 3, of “Taking a Trip to Abilene. Note that this phenomenon of the Abilene Paradox is very similar to group think discussed in chapter 9, but not exactly the same.
Discuss in your team your “trips to Abilene.” Examples could be from incidents that happened among friends, family, or at work.
After discussing individual experiences in your team, each team is to write a short paper on one or more examples of Taking a Trip to Abilene. The assignment is to be turned in on Thursday, 3/11.
In your team’s report, discuss your examples of a “Trip to Abilene” and specifically address:
(1) Why you think it happened?
(2) What were the consequences?
(3) What could have been done to preclude “Taking a Trip to Abilene”?
