Step 1: Select and Read the Book
Read a book associated with either one of the cultures or one of the main characters we have covered in class. It does not have to be written during that particular time period, but it does have to be non-fiction. The book must be at least 100 pages in length. Be sure to read the introduction. The thesis of the book is explained in the introduction and that will help you evaluate the overall effectiveness of the book.

For my book review I have chosen to write about “Alexander the Great.”

One term paper the papers must be typed, double spaced, and have proper citation in the form of footnotes or end notes. Parenthetical citations are allowed. You should use Times New Roman, 12-point standard font. The book review should be six pages, roughly 1500 words.

Step 2: Evaluating the Book:

Keep the following questions in mind while you read the book
Who wrote the book?
What is the author’s background?
When was the book written?
Why did you choose this particular book?
Did you like the book?
Why or why not?
Did it influence your interpretation of the topic?
What do you feel is the strength of the book?
What did you not like about the book?
Has the book changed how you understood a topic?
