Identify author and describe potential biases. The honorable Diane P. Wood is a judge at the United States Court of Appeals for the
Seventh Circuit. She wrote this article in order to make a statement about how she has seen the US Constitution be used in the 21st Century. She may be bias due to the fact that she is a judge but from this source it doesn’t not seem to be a factor.
Identify thesis and arguments. Being a judge for the United States Court of Appeals or any judge for a matter of a fact, you take an oath and swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. This being true, you are also blindly required to follow every law as well as enforce and uphold the law and constitution of the United States. With that being said, the honorable Diane P. Wood can be said to be going against the grain as she talks about what the US constitution is in the eyes of the U.S. Court of Appeals as well as how it is used whether that being properly or improperly.
What primary sources did the source rely on? United States Constitution
Is the source reliable and convincing? Why or why not? The source is incredible reliable due to the fact that its decades old and is continuously looked back on as a source in many situations.
How does the source relate to your project topic? How does it add to what you already know about the topic? This source relates to my project topic because it specifically talks about the US Constitution in ways of its usefulness but also the way it may be misinterpreted. For the sake of my project it will help answer my first question “As the world and the United States have changed dramatically and drastically over many centuries, why is the U.S. Constitution still glorified to this day and no changes are being made?” This source also helps me get a deeper insight into a place where I was unaware of some of the ways the US Constitution was being implemented in the 21st century.
