Here is the feedback my teacher gave me on the paper I sent him for review
“The first thing to think about is that this TED Talk speech is supposed to be a persuasive speech. For a speech to be persuasive there must be some issue or problem that, in this case, has a cause(s) and effect(s). What is the issue or problem involving AI? You sort of hint at the fact that AI has taken the place of people working. Is this the problem you want to talk about because your speech has to be more than just explaining what AI is and how it will affect us in the future.
What I recommend is that you write out one sentence that begins with the following “After hearing my speech you will agree with me that . . .” Some possible endings to this sentence could be the following:
“Artificial Intelligence is an increasing problem in our society.”
“Artificial Intelligence is the solution to most of the world’s problems”
“Artificial Intelligence takes away what is really meaningful about humanity.”
Once you have written out your sentenceĀ then you need to decide on what is the cause of the issue or problem. In other words, how did AI come about? What caused it? Did it come about as a way for corporations to eliminate human expense? Was it invented as the inevitable journey of the computer? Why do we have it and why do we need it?
Next, think about what the effects AI has on our life now and what effects it will have in the future — both positive and/or negative.
