Reflection
After reflecting on that information, it becomes evident that healthcare professionals should invest time in educating themselves on how healthcare-related laws impact the patients they have committed themselves to serve. In addition to educating themselves, healthcare professionals, especially advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), should become actively engaged in organizations that have direct relationships with political members responsible for representing the communities they serve. Particularly, the APRN should remain active members of these organizations, because they can serve as leaders in different healthcare sectors. Therefore, they should be knowledgeable and efficient in communicating what is currently effective and not effective in ensuring all Americans have access to affordable and quality healthcare.
