Competitive Strategy Group Work Planning Template – Business Strategy Report When initiating a group project it is imperative that each team member is clear on their role, and of each group member’s expectations. Using the framework below, discuss with your group members how your Business Strategy Report assignment will be executed. You may decide to discuss only some, or all of the issues below. Successful group work is dependent upon being explicit with one-another about your expectations of the process, and of the final product. Ground Rules: Aspects you should consider may include (but are not limited to):
-Adhering to contingency and communication plans and enforcing penalties
-Rules pertaining to working as a team and showing team members respect
-Completing tasks by deadlines
-Standard of academic work submitted (e.g. are you aiming for a High Distinction, or are you both happy with a Credit? Be up front about this)
-How/will there be any formative quality control checks on each other’s work to ensure you are both happy with your other group member’s contribution?
-How group decisions will be made?
-If a group member is having difficulties completing work or meeting deadlines what communication, timelines, and support mechanisms will you have in place?
-What is the deadline for all parties to submit their contributions?
-Who/how will the final document be compiled?
-Who will take responsibility for performing preliminary originality checks through Turnitin? Communication Plan: Aspects you should consider but not be limited by:
-When and where/how you will meet together as a group (day/time/location)
-How often you will meet (weekly/fortnightly/specific dates or a combination)
-What forms of communication will you use and how (email, Zoom, Skype etc)
-Will an agenda be compiled for each meeting and by whom? Contingency Plan: Aspects you should consider but not be limited by:
-What happens if a group member does not submit work by the required date?
-What if personality clashes or arguments occur?
-What if meetings are not attended?
