You will answer two questions in your initial post.
Your initial post should consist of at least two paragraphs; each paragraph should consist of at least five sentences.
Question 1: Analyze the dynamics between the relationship between two characters who appear in the first two acts of the play. Is there love or a conflict between the characters, or do both contrasting dynamics exist between the two characters?
Question 2: Discuss how the setting of the play (time period and location) affect the characters and their situation in Acts I and II.
The initial post is due on Friday. Respond to at least two of your classmates by Sunday. A response to my follow-up question is ,– also counted as a follow-up response. Posts submitted after the forum closes at the end of the week on Sunday are NOT accepted for grading.
Limit your discussion to scenes from Acts I and II only. Do not bring up details from Act III.
Students are required to read the original play. Certainly, you may refer to the audio or video versions of the drama as supplementary resources; however, if you don’t read the original play, you will miss the magnificent lyricism and power of the language of Hansberry. Bear in mind that your initial post should be based on your reading of the play and not a film or television adaptation of the original text; the film and television versions deviate from the original text.

Remember, limit your discussion to ACTS I and II only.
In Hansberry’s time period, there were certain words used in the play which are now considered taboo. Please do not use these derogatory words that reinforce negative stereotypes in your forum posts. Thank you for your cooperation.
